Folkies Old and New

To raise funds for the Brisbane Folk Music new publication, The Folk Rag, June Nichols began a series of concerts using the talents of local Folk musicians who freely give their time for this worthy cause.

June began the series to provide a venue to showcase the older generation as well as to encourage the emerging talent of the next generation – and the ‘Folkies Old and New” concert series was born. The following pages are a trip down memory lane depicting some us ‘old’ folkies when we were ‘new’. I hope you enjoy this nostalgia trip – and, if you feel anyone has been omitted and you have a photo please email it to me and I will be glad to include it in this archive.
